1. No Hawaii jokes please. We need all the visitors we can get.
Times are tough here. Our budget is so bad we had to furlough the school system to the least amount of days in the nation.

Our kids are beginning to think that 3 1/2 days of school a week is normal.

Please visit everyone. The weather is nice too.

2. How does that question constitute a "Hawaii joke?"
I thought the OP was asking how forthright mr. man of the people is about his luxury vacation plans.

4. Having visited Hawaii
I don't think anyone would make fun of or put down Hawaii. Other than Waikiki I can't think of anything negative to say about Hawaii.

(And Waikiki is fine, but if you plan on spending your vacation there, save the money, go to San Diego and hang out in the Gas Lamp District. Pretty damning, my least favorite place in Hawaii is one of the best places in the Continental U.S.)

5. I don't think that was the OP's intention - if anything, I'd say the general DU sentiment is that
PigBoy has been acting like Hawaii was a foreign, exotic land - someplace "real" Americans would generally steer clear of. And so where does he go?

6. Yeah, that "exotic" thing really stung.
I bet Rush is happy he isn't getting "exotic" healthcare.

7. Exactly. I've only visited Maui once, but I love Hawaii.
I was asking because I'd guess that the dittoheads were busy dissing Obama for visiting his birth state - an "exotic" place that "doesn't seem to be part of America" according to some talking heads - while fat boy himself was off in Hawaii, doing drugs, playing golf and farting up a storm.

8. I'd go back in a heartbeat; in fact, maybe this summer. Loved Hawaii. Heaven has to be
either in Hawaii or Langkawi, Malaysia.

22. I'm going next month
for my birthday. Maui this time.

It amuses me that the East Coast Establishment Media think Hawai'i's so exotic: from where I am in the SF Bay Area it's closer than DC or NY.

9. Considering most of them are unaware that he loves San Francisco, routinely smokes
Cuban cigars, and is a wine snob, I doubt it.

This article really needs more exposure--Limbaugh is the world's physically and mentally biggest hypocrite:

All the money in the world doesn't get rid of bad taste. He looks like an idiot which explains why he's on the radio.

14. I wonder how many of his fans have seen pix of the $27,000,000 mansion he lives in?
That right, lurking freeper repukes, A TWENTY SEVEN MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE.

In Palm Beach County, no less! Right down the street from the Kennedys they so adore.

15. They are fine with it
Their disconnect it unreal, but they generally don't care that Rush lives in a 27,000,000 mansion. They justify it by saying "he fights for us!", "he's worked so hard the American way!", and "you liberals don't like it when people make money!". All the while they can't grasp that his wealth is created on their backs and their stupidity.

16. It's my understanding that it is not just a big house,
but a compound, yes, A COMPOUND, of houses -- for one man.

At least the Kennedy's have an extensive family and probably often find themselves sharing a room.

Rush has a different house for every day of the week for him to recline in with his cat.

For some reason, this does not bother his "everyman" audience.

18. He may have wanted to conceal his foreign travel plans.
(Who was it that said Hawaii is foreign ot most Americans? Was it Cokie Roberts? And if it is foreign, show me the damn birth certificate!)

19. As a matter of fact he did...he was laughing at Obama having to stay in DC for HCR
when I flipped past his show, and he said he was off to Hawaii while Obama would be stuck waiting in DC for Healthcare Reform.
