A Freeper's view on the killing of children in Afghanistan

I asked a right-wing member of a right-wing site if he did not care about the recent killing of children in Afghanistan, condemned even by Hamid Karzai. His reply couldn't be more disgusting:

Me: “Are you happy that the children died?”

The freeper: "Yep, if those children are not Americans, and if it means that AMERICANS were not unfairly punished. I have virtually no respect for so-called civilians anywhere except in the US. We should not go out of our way to harm others, but we also should not care if they get hurt in a warfare environment. The Palestinians use THEIR children as human shields (to manipulate the feelings of Western softies)...given that, then sorry to the kids, but don’t blame us, blame your parents.

...and when things get bad enough, that will (again) become Western policy, and the world will QUICKLY become a much more peaceful place.

i have tried. I posted many pics of the civilians and soldiers I could find on here back during the Bush reign. It needs to be seen.
Unfortunately, now that Obama is in office, we are supposed to accept them .
I find it appalling that people are that shallow.

7. Scary thinking, but not at all uncommon

This is exactly how huge numbers of conservatives think. They are also addicted to the idea of war, it seems to boost their "manly" visions of themselves to send our soldiers to other countries to kill and be killed, they get to watch it on TV and feel proud of all he bombs we have and how tough our nation is. This is how they think, it isn't an extreme position at all among conservatives.

Some kind of a made up word to label people and reduce them to symbols we can easily dismiss and hate ?

While the opinion expressed above is ignorant, many here at DU have similar ignorant attitudes justifying wars, this is not a conservative versus democratic point of view, and the politicians WE SUPPORT who fund these wars are much more to blame than some anonymous person on the Internet.

If we really want to end these wars, I believe it would be be better focus our attention on the politicians who fund them, the people who are supposed to represent the majority of Americans, but I guess that's too complicated for some people to understand, better to find some bogeyman to blame.

murder. Sorry to bring it up but this is the contradiction of the conservative party. These same people didn't care about the drowning in NO either...nothing to see here folks...same hateful right wing we have seen for the last 30 years.

I can honsestly say if there is a liberal that is against abortion that I have never seen them (especially on DU) justify the deaths of innocent children in another country.
