For those who believe that HCR in its current form will help them/those they love:
Can you also understand why others claim that it will harm other people, and if so, do you still believe ON BALANCE that the help provided by this legislation will outweigh the harm, and how can you say that with certainty or even just with conviction?

1. There are TWO current forms...
The Senate form and the House form. To which are you referring? Or is your crystal ball jiggling about and spasmodically showing you how the bill will look once the two are reconciled?

2. Conditions dictate that we discuss the Senate draft here
The House bill is in effect, dead. The Senate and the President want the funding, the essential structure, lack of restrictions on the industry, and availability to remain in place

6. I was around when Medicare and Medicaid was first installed. They
were not good. As each of these programs were "tweaked", improved upon, they became workable and very helpful to a lot of people. These things take time. Too many hands in the pot at this point, but over time I'm thinking we will have an HCR bill to rival what the Europeans enjoy. My take only.

8. That's my take too...
It's a foot in the door... and a hell of a lot more than we've seen happen in decades.

9. Government run
You are describing two government run programs. What we have here is merely more regulation of a commercial industry. It will do everything for health care that regulation did for the banking industry. If you want a program than can be "tweaked" into something useful, you're gonna need government option/single payer/medicare for all.....

11. Yes, It's a foot in the door and does solve some issues for millions of people.
It will be tweaked for years to come, and hopefully won't be a settled issue until it's Simple Single Payer. To stop it now is putting eventual Single Payer further down the road.

13. With certainty? How can you say anything with certainty?
Are we conservative all of a sudden? No change is better than any unsure change?

Or is it just that you are sure that this bill is so bad that nobody could morally support it?
