Does this not clearly show what 'could be done' with the money we are pouring into the black hole in Iraq.

Is not safety of our food a top priority? Especially since food supply has been recognized as a legitimate target for terrorism?

(Above is based upon $2bil/mo spent on Iraq -- and hopefully my math is right!)

Honestly, I don't understand the de-regulation crowd. So the government steps out of things and lets the food industry sell whatever junk they want without oversight; they have the choice of policing themselves at similar expense, or cutting corners and costs and poisoning us. Either way, their money will still be spent -- either in food safety or in paying off lawsuits. The only difference is a lot more people will get sick and potentially die from what they're eating under de-regulation.
