Poll: Lieberman Hated By Everyone In Connecticut After Health Care Debates
Edited on Thu Jan-07-10 12:11 PM by BzaDem
"The new poll of Connecticut by Public Policy Polling (D) finds that independent Sen. Joe Lieberman's approval rating is absolutely in the dumps after his actions in the health care debate, with him having antagonized every group imaginable by both weakening progressive efforts and then voting for the actual bill.

Lieberman's overall approval rating is only 25%, with 67% disapproval. Democrats disapprove of him by 14%-81%, Republicans by 39%-48%, and independents by 32%-61%. Only 19% approve of his actions on the health care bill, with Democrats at 8%-80%, Republicans at 26%-55%, and independents at 30%-59%. Among those who support the bill, 84% disapprove of his handling of the issue, and in addition 52% of the people who don't support the bill also disapprove of Lieberman's actions.

"Joe Lieberman isn't popular enough with the Democrats or the Republicans to receive their nomination for the Senate in 2012," said PPP president Dean Debnam, in the polling memo. "And since the independents don't like him much these days either it's hard to see how he'll be around for another term."

13. That's it exactly!
Joe has known for a while that he wasn't going to get another term. He is collecting markers from many industries right now as well as from other Senotors like Evan Bayh. He played the spoiler for Obama and other Democrats who needed AND PLANNED FOR a spoiler to kill meaningful HCR without leaving their fingerprints on the knife.

No, Joe is hardly upset with this polling as he knew this was his last shot at squeezing this lemon. Ol' Joe is nakedly working SOLELY for Joe and his allies in Israel and big Business. Connecticut voters are merely rubes, hayseeds and marks to Ol' Joe at this point. Suckers!

5. Bwahahaha
It took longer than it should have, but, I guess Lieberman was finally pushed against the wall and showed his true colors. Thank God the media wasn't there to spin it and confuse his constituents.

8. ever since his debate with Cheney, I was under the impression that he wants to be a well paid whore
for some company and his antics lately make me think that he is gunning for a job with a health care conglomerate.

11. Well, how many Dems in the Senate campaigned for Holy Joe
over Ned Lamont, who actually won the Dem nomination? Just one glaring example of the one-party system we have. If Joe wants to retain his seat in 2012, the Money Party will make it a certain thing.

They are all complicit.

:nuke:

edited to say.... can you provide a list? As a matter of fact, we all need to go back and let them know we don't appreciate what they did, and that they helped to create the mess! I'll make some calls, if you can find a list of them...

For others who will make calls:

14. I think he has known all along that he wouldn't get another term, and that
is why he has been doing whatever it takes to ensure a lobbyist position after his Senate career is over.

Oh the irony!

19. I don't see any support for what he authored
I don't think anyone here actually liked (and actually I think almost everyone here despised) the changes he made. The difference of opinion is that many here do not want to kill HCR for two decades solely because of the changes he made (even though we can all agree they made the bill much worse).

21. That's right.
I don't think anybody is enthused about the Senate version of HCR, and nobody is doing cartwheels over the slightly better House bill, either.

But I do think it's better than nothing, unlike many here who disagree and prefer the status quo over any version now before Congress.
