If you have little ones who received children's jewelry for Christmas, read this article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100111/ap_on_he_me/us_cadmium_jewelry

When the Chinese were told they could not use lead in kids trinkets, they substituted cadmium, which is MORE dangeous than lead, according to the AP article.

Any doubt---pitch 'em. Not worth the chance.

3. Recommend. Children's jewelry and toys can both be dangerous.
Round objects that can be put into the mouth should not be available to kids. That means costume jewelry that mom might wear, too. Fake pearls, for example.

4. "flip flop bracelet charms sold at Walmart contained between 84 and 86 percent cadmium. "
Also mentioned were "best friends" charms and christmas charms. Stuff like this is also commonly worn by teenagers, or even adults.
