Who does Wall Street like better? Democrats or Republicans? Gee...

28. I think you mean Turner Broadcasting
and Wall Street likes whoever makes them the most money, period. They don't care about donkeys and elephants, its bulls and bears that they worry about.

35. Truer before Mr. "with-us-or-against-us" tipped the playing field
at the moment the good old hypothetical free market has caught a bit of fascist flu.

Sure, Wall Street likes who makes them money, but the government's been handing out favors like candy on Halloween to companies that play nice. And in the case of media, 'playing nice' has included getting rid of some objective reporters and editors, and planting right-wing flaks in their seats. It's not just FOX playing along. Wall Street knows which way the wind blows.

Of course there are individual billionaires for whom politics does matter, and I'd suspect that Soros and Buffett are in the minority.

36. CNN is owned by Aol Time Warner

CNN's Parent Company is Aol Time Warner

It was sold by Turner Broadcasting years ago.

Why Expose CNN?

Because CNN's news coverage is becoming increasingly biased in favor of government and corporate interests. People who rely on CNN may benefit from learning how any bias may or may not affect CNN news products.

Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) has documented several factors that influence media conglomerates such as AOL Time Warner (CNN's Parent Company). Three major factors described by FAIR are Corporate Ownership, Advertiser Influence, and Official Agendas. The following is FAIR's take on what affects the news we see.

33. Who advertises on CNN? Who are their sponsors?
CNN is just a "business" and they just want "profit". So who is their business and where do they get their profit? That's the question right?

not pissing away billions of dollars in Iraq. I rarely watch, but I don't recall ever seeing Halliburton ads on CNN.

3. Why would they lie?
they are after all . . . "the most trusted name in news."

Unreal, could they not even include the word "alleged" or some indicator that this was Cheney's brilliant perspective.

Nice work CNN.

19. Because their corporate sponsors make a FORTUNE off this war, in the BILLIONS
They NEED to make the Dems look bad, to stretch this gravy train out as long as they can.

They KNOW it is coming to an end, they're just tossing stink bombs to delay the day, and squeeze out a few more billion before the gravy train grinds to a halt.

It's why you see shit like this, it's why you see a trade of Smerconish for Imus, it's why Glen Beck is on his usual rant against global warming and troop withdrawal.

The corporations control the media. They feed us what they want us to know about this war, so we don't wake up and gripe. The war is intimately affiliated with their bottom line.

Follow the money--it's all in the public domain. Look at the biggest corporate advertisers, and examine their relationship with the Federal government and the Pentagon.

It ain't rocket science. Wouldn't YOU try to shut anyone up who was screwing with your ability to profit in business?

Nice work, indeed. It's another "Mission Accomplished" for our corporate masters.

If this is the term that Cheney used, than CNN is just quoting him. This means that the quotations should be around "defeatist Dem Plan"

Yea. I remember. It's appalling what they call "journalism" or even "writing" these days.

And one HAS to ask if it's just blazing illiteracy and carelessness - or intentional - particularly considering what owns the media.

10. And then they misspell it as "defeatest" on the story's main page...
sadly, all they had to do to make that headline work would be to put quotes around "defeatist," so that we know it's Cheney's word, not CNN's. Pity their copy editor was out to lunch.

13. I can't watch CNN anymore.
They hire FOX anchors to take over their morning show, and continue to trumpet anything Bush does. CNN is disgraceful. Who is running that place? As FOX loses ground and KO sees 70%-plus audience increases, CNN goes in the oposite direction, becoming more Fox-like than Fox.

23. I just sent this to CNN through their website, not that it would matter a damn.
"I have never been moved to write a cable news network as I am now. I can see Faux News not covering Kucinich's live press conference regarding the introduction of articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney. You held Cheney's conference this morning live, but do not believe that Kucinich's press conference and Q&A session is newsworthy enough to be held live? Shame on you CNN. It's absolutely appalling that you would not carry this important story LIVE."
