Here's my solution.
1. End all wars and let everyone go home. Use military for humanitarian purposes such as disaster relief.

2. Restore income tax rates to those before the Reagan tax cuts.

3. Revoke corporate personhood and close all corporate tax loopholes so that no corporation can avoid paying income tax.

4. Single-payer health system now.

5. Publicly-financed elections now.

6. Strict federal regulations on the price of utilities including gasoline as a utility, electricity, natural gas, heating oil, water and sewer rates.

7. Take global climate change seriously and enact and enforce regulations to fight it.

8. Build massive solar energy plants in the sun-drenched southwestern U.S.

9. Repeal Don't ask Don't Tell, make discrimination illegal in the military, pass and ratify constitutional right of any 2 adults to marry in any state.

10. Regulate financial industry and enforce strictly.

1. I'm afraid we've slipped too far gone. Re: #5

the Supreme's are about to rule in the case of FEC V. Citizens United (TOMORROW!!!) and it is expected that they will equivocate money with speech and allow corporations the ability to pump endless amounts of money directly into the Election Process thus guaranteeing a Quid Pro Quo between candidates and corporations (like we dont already have this)

And another question I have regarding public financing is who do we expect to vote in favor of public financing? The candidates that are paid millions by the corporations? The big money is not about to give up power, they will in fact throw more money at the debate/vote to ensure that they keep power away from the citizens.
