that being there for a longer period then going home, would be better than going back and forth for someones stress level. I'm sure the transition, and not knowing if you're going to go back can be difficult.

We have long known that the untrained psyche can stand no more than 13 months deployment in a hostile environment.

This has held true for a long time.

These extended deployments came right out of some politician's ass. There is just no way that any realistic military strategist would sign off on this.

Take it from me and Monkeyman, morgan2, we know this as well or better than anyone here.

11. Absolutely not!
A myriad of studies have shown that the human psyche can only endure but so much of the continuous stress of combat. After a certain period of time, (I believe it was around 12-13 months) a break is absolutely necessary.
