A health care story.
A friend of ours came down with leukemia about 10 months ago. He was retired in his 50ties,no health insurance.
He spent about 2 months in treatment,radiation and chemotherapy and was sent home and as he told me, they gave him a clean bill of health.
He also had a $150,000 bill to pay.
A few months ago it came back on him and he went back to same hospital for treatment.
They hoped to give him a bone marrow transplant but could never come up with a match.
He passed away yesterday.
They had sold their 80 acres of land to help pay bill. all for not.

2. America the land of the free--- to die for insurance or health care profits.
So sad to see this, over and over again.
I have been there myself, I no longer have anything to sell.
I had to be completely destitute and lost home, car, job.
Now I am disabled and on SSD. I guess I am lucky ... It is not an adventure I would wish on someone else..well most anyone else there are a few deserving of it, namely those who think that medical care should be a for profit business.
You don't realize just how precarious it is until it happens to you.
