Incredible new photo from Mars "Looks like trees."

According to Candy Hansen, a member of NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) team at the University of Arizona, this new image of Mars taken by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows an optical illusion. What appears to be trees rising from the Martian surface are actually dark streaks of collapsed material running down sand dunes due to carbon dioxide frost evaporation. The image was released in Jan. 2010. Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Arizona.

18. Shouldn't the last part of the last sentence read:
"due carbon dioxide frost SUBLIMATION", rather than evaporation? CO2 frost sublimates.

Awesome photos!

24. you make great sense--normally I'd be relieved to have that as an explanation.
but I am already lost to rational appeals about Mars. I don't know what's up there
but I know it's not what we're being told.

This lunatic is worth a glance for the open-minded--he's spent the last ten years analyzing
extant NASA imagery:

that link will dig me even deeper into the twilight, I'm sure...don't follow it if you are a rock-hard rationalist. It'll make you mad.

The current pic in the OP is outstanding.

To claim any of this is biological seems really just conjecture.

I visited his site, some interesting images, but if he were serious his site's background would be white. :+

cheers!
