I now times are tight but every little bit helps.

Doctors Without Borders has already treated more than 1,000 people on the ground in Haiti following Tuesday's earthquake,
but the needs are huge. An inflatable hospital with operating theatres is expected to arrive in the next 24 hours.

I have given $25.00 to the Red Cross too.

I hope that help gets out to the people and that some suffering is on those poor people is lightened.

Doctors Without Borders: Providing Medical Care in Haiti

This organization has three hospitals in Haiti. The earthquake of 1/12/2010 destroyed one hospital and caused so much damage to
the other two hospitals that they cannot be used due to structural damage.

Paul McPhun of Doctors Without Borders told NPR that the organization is now providing medical care outside in tents. He added "Without
functioning hospitals, it's not possible to provide the surgical care that people need. The best we can offer now is first aid care and stabilization."

The organization is flying doctors and staff into Haiti to help out with the immense medical crisis. A 100-bed inflatable portable hospital is also
being flown in to help doctors perform surgeries.

The staff of Doctors Without Borders in Haiti is still concerned about missing team members. Numerous staff members in Port-au-Prince are still among the missing.

5. I've been meaning to sign up as a "Field Partner" monthly supporter.
The earthquake in Haiti made me quit procrastinating. I gave a one-time gift plus I signed up for a recurring monthly donation.

7. Doctors Without Borders is Wonderful
My best hopes go out for their missing staff.

Shameless plug follows:

NNU is working to organize the deployment of teams of RN's into Haiti. At last count more than 7000 nurses have signed up on their site to volunteer to go. Most are nurses taking off time from their jobs to go and help for no compensation. If anyone has a little left over, they could use some help getting supplies and transportation, etc...arranged for the effort. Nurses will be able to do a lot to extend the reach of the doctors.
