Only NOW, does Bush recognize how to respond to a disaster
Edited on Sat Jan-16-10 05:16 PM by yodoobo
"Bush, who congratulated Obama for his "swift and timely response to the disaster," said he was pleased to work with Clinton "to mobilize the compassion of the American people.""

It's ashame he didn't know this during Katrina

Sad that he's trying to mooch off the goodwill of Obama and Clinton during this disaster.

1. He had to be 'prompted' to do it. I don't call that "responding." eom

3. Oh I don't mean he's responding. Just that
now he recognizes a proper response when Obama is doing it.

2. That's not really fair - or correct - and I hate the Monkey more than most...
Edited on Sat Jan-16-10 05:09 PM by givemebackmycountry
This wasn't HIS idea - he's incapable of original thought.
He was ASKED to do this.
Maybe, just maybe he will learn something, although it's a slim chance indeed that THAT happens.

It was striking how little and sad he looked when standing next to Obama and Clinton.
He surely was the thing in that "which thing does not belong" picture.

(spelling error)

5. I thought about it today. Why didn't laura tell him about Katrina? Did she know?
Did she give a damn? Apparently, not. They are two arrogant and pathetic specimens.

8. Laura thinks the name of the hurricane was Corina
Here's the quote:

"I also want to encourage anybody who was affected by Hurricane Corina to make sure their children are in school." –First Lady Laura Bush, twice referring to a "Hurricane Corina" while speaking to children and parents in South Haven, Mississippi, Sept. 8, 2005

6. How soon we forget that he always does this
Remember the Clear Skies Initiative? What he says and what he does are completely opposite. Molly Ivins always told us to watch what he does and never believe what he says.

10. NOW he watches the TV and sees the images of destruction
He and Laura were watching it at home. Would have been nice if he had done the same during Katrina.

Having said that, good for him for speaking up and being part of the effort. I loved when Clinton said that he was thinking of ways to get him to do things he hadn't signed on for.
