I may be wrong, but I think the mess in Massachusetts is MSM manufactured
I feel Coakley is going to win. Maybe by a slim margin because the Pukes (as usual) were more motivated initially and thought they could steal the election. But I don't think the good people of Massachusetts will put a fucking idiot like Brown in to replace Ted Kennedy. If they do, it says more about them than anything else. But I just don't think what's happening in the media is the true story. And I think that what's happening now may be reaching the people who aren't political junkies like we are.

I hope Coakley sends this jerk home.

1. I am in Mass and no it is not
We are in serious jeapordy of losing the seat. Our candidate was arrogant and throught winning the primary would hand her the seat. Then she switched to support a bill that is VERY unpopular here. Add in people being pissed at the Gov and Beacon Hill and a crazy RW loon pretending to be a moderate good ole boy in a pick up truck talking about jobs and taxes.......

Unless you are from here, you really can't understand what is happening.

9. Of course I don't understand what's happening, I only see what the media shows me
which is my point, but that's OK. I still think people will wake up tomorrow and think twice about electing this guy. I think giving the people of Massachusetts a little bit more credit is important too.

big story and it is in the MSM's interest to blow it up and keep it going.

6. Care to explain why PPP (a reputable Democratic polling firm) has Brown up slightly?
Are they part of the conspiracy.

Hell Coakley *may* win but the fact that it is even close in a solid blue state for the replacement of Ted Kennedy seat of all places is a very bad sign.

to the point where they will all stay home or cast a protest vote for Joe Kennedy (the 3rd independent Senate candidate) thinking that he is a *real* Kennedy...

13. you cannot be seriously blaming progressives for this potential loss
That crystal ball of yours is cracked. *People*, not *just* progressives, are disappointed in what they've been seeing from Washington - especially after listening to all the promises made back during the campaign. *People* from all aspects of Massachusetts and across the nation -- are you going to label them ALL progressive? :sarcasm:

Jeez -- the freeperish mindset around here is getting frightening. :puke:

If you want them to fail, then join the club.

Obama turned the economy around and saved us from a Great Depression

GDP January 2009 -6.4%

GDP November 2009 +2.2%

Job losses January 2009 - 650,000 per month

Job losses November 2009 - 4000 new jobs added - first time in 2 years

All the economic indicators clearly indicate we're in recovery and unemployment will decline this year - but don't let data get in the way..

11. What really matters is that this goes far beyond Mass
especially with the President going there and stumping, all the media coverage and the fact that this was Kennedy's seat for so many years. It is not as if Mass simply lost a senate race. It is a statement on so many issues and if Brown wins, the damage will cascade way beyond Mass.

This seat should have been more guarded than any Senate seat in the US! Nothing should have been taken for granted!

14. The media is doing the same thing here in Seattle.
Front page of the Sunday paper had an article on Patty Murray's upcoming election . It said something like "for Murray and Dems this years
election has a wildcard." All three repukes were interviewed on the NBC affiliate last night. The "wildcard" loves Sarah Palin, thinks she's
just what the country needs. Good luck with that one in WA.

29. No, You Got The Wrong Idea. What I Meant To Say Is That As Democrats
you can't be taking all kinds of money from the "same" people the Repukes are and then expect to be re-elected! I've always like Patty Murray and recall "why" she ran and would like to think she would go back to being that same person. And I don't know that she's one who has her hand out, but I DO KNOW that Coakley has taken all kinds of money from Big Pharma and others! It doesn't play well with many of us.

Like Woolsey coming out and stumping for Jane Harmon, which surprised me A LOT! Woolsey has been my kind of Democrat, but if there is a MORE Progressive/Liberal candidate than Harmon, then I would LOVE to see that other person elected.

I feel that the WH & especially the people so close to Obama are basically DLC, and having Rahm saying to ignore "the base" is actually a slap in the face. Soooooooooo, it would be MY preference to have the DLC/Blue Dog types actually losing their seat to another Democrat who is more willing to represent "we the people" as opposed to THE BIG GUYS! We helped to elect Democrats and they have it all right now, and yet things aren't looking all that "swell!"

Obama wanted to be bi-partisan and get along and that doesn't seem to have worked out either. Even many Independents who voted for CHANGE don't seem to think they are getting it, and are jumping ship so to speak. A good example is MA which should NEVER have been a problem at all seems to be in trouble. Many think MA is mostly made up of Democrats, but the majority of people there are Independents, so we'll see what happens there.

So many of OUR so called Democrats right now seem more "right of center" and you can't tell the difference between them and a Repuke!

I would prefer to have Baucus & both Nelsons to be replaced by a more PROGRESSIVE Democrat, but NOT a Repuke! And there are other DINOs that need to go too! Please don't hold it against me, but I truly think that Scott Brown just may pull it off! To think that a person like him could even get close enough to win is astounding, and it should send CHILLS up the spine of the WH AND our Congress Critters! But will it?????

You can't just say Coakley ran a bad campaign, it goes deeper than that IMO! Brown is almost a "birther" and someone who couldn't be further from what Ted Kennedy stood for! It's just scary! So we need some real Democrats to fight back, which so many aren't doing right now!

I KNOW what side I'm on, but it may be to the left of you... still that doesn't make me any less dedicated!

19. I'm hoping that this is simply reverse psychology. If MA Dems believe Brown will win,
then maybe the prospect will force them into action in support of Coakley. The M$M has been telling us, and even the liberals echo M$M's evaluation, that Coakley is a bad candidate. We need to be writing Ed, Rachel and Keith to tell them to STOP playing into the hands of the right wing by demonizing Dem candidates. Sure, Coakley may not be awe inspiring, but she sure as hell beats the Repuke, any time, any day.

Don't we get it? This is about preserving the legacy of Ted Kennedy and everything he has fought for. How can Dems poo-poo this election, taking their anger and frustration towards Obama and congressional Dems out on a man who dedicated his life to championing progressive causes and substantive policy change? I don't get it at all! I am very, very sad. But I do hope that MA Dems will wake up tomorrow and participate in the process, putting their anger aside just for one day.

Do it for Teddy!!!!

20. The media is partially responsible, but Coakley has run a lackluster campaign.
The RW media in Boston is all over the telegenic Borwn, whose wife, Gail Huff, is a long-time reporter on Channel 5. Scott gets free coverage from our TV stations, appears on radio stations where is is fawned over, and Martha gets covered as 'making gaffes' and 'going negative'. It was Brown who started with the negative ads, yet they are all over Martha. It's despicable.

30. Hopefully media did a favor but getting complacent Dems off their butts
Dems lost many races in recent months because they didn't get off their butts. Hopefully, the closeness in the polls and the media frenzy is motivating Dems to get back to work politically, and to show up at the polls. The teabaggers were highly motivated, while too many Dems seem to have lost interest. Turnout is more important than anything else in a special election.

34. It's a win-win M$M strategy.
Convince people if they want to be with the winner, this is the winner.

If he then loses, the story becomes a wow, look at the upset while watching our commercials.

Health Care is the issue. Over one-trillion dollars a year is nothing but excess unneeded money being "spent", and a huge portion is ready and a waiting for political campaigns.
