Rothenberg Moves MA-SEN To 'Leans Takeover'

Rothenberg Political Report today moved the Massachusetts Senate special election from a "tossup" rating to "leans takeover."

"Brown is running extremely well with Independents in the Bay State, and unless Democratic turnout exceeds everyone's expectations, Brown is headed for a comfortable win," Rothenberg writes.

The seat, which belonged to the late Ted Kennedy, is now held by interim Sen. Paul Kirk (D). Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Martha Coakley, as well as Libertarian Joe Kennedy, are vying for the seat.

So pissed at the democratic party, they feel forced to abstain because of the health care and Martha's strong DLC leanings. I do not know one person who is going to vote Brown, that is completely taboo.

The dems are mobilized, I will say that. My inbox is flooded from every dem organization I belong to plus mailings and calls. And, they wised up and stopped trying to sell her as the 60th vote on health care which was actively pissing people off (and really, on that you can't blame people for being angry, if people are willing to vote in SPITE of her support of this terrible legislation, don't rub it in their faces).

I think that many democrats who weren't aware of the race now know, and that should be enough to push her over the top. A lot of people I know where like 'what senate race'?

I predict a Coakley win in a larger then expected number.

The dems need to get back to representing their base, if they don't the entire 2010 election year is going to be just like MA.
