It would mean raising taxes on themselves. To many millionaires in Congress now. THEY don't want to sacrifice. Not in taxes, not give up their healthcare or share it, not set rules for the sectors they have investments and after term jobs lined up in....

It is all about them. We either change congress or break out the pitchforks and storm the citadel. Which is it?

1. What, and piss off their base?
Piss off their corporate masters?

That's not going to happen.

2. They are the foxes in charge of the hen house.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a job where you can set your own salary and decide to give yourself a 2.2% raise every year regardless of job performance and then vote yourself an extra retirement plan?

And that's just Congress.

Start looking into the wealthiest nonperson entities in our nation and you'll find most pay very little in taxes if at all.

Let's face it. We are serfs, expected to do all the backbreaking labor and give more and more of our money to those who jet set around and do practically nothing for a living.

Congress and the WH have demonstrated time and again their true allegiance, and it ain't to us little people.

Bend over and get ready for the next reaming..you know it's coming.

7. We historically vote for 'the name you know' and reelect the same
weasels time after time, it will have to be pitchforks and storming.

We don't like to replace anyone after we put them in. It would be admitting an error in (our) judgment)

8. Something needs to happen soon before this country drowns under the weight of inequality.

In all senses of the word, the private sector and it's excuse-ridden "free market" way of doing things has FAILED us and we have to operate in the sense that it's failed us for the last time. The fact is that America can no longer survive with this predatory way of doing business. The government has to step in and put a stop to the greed. Start enacting tariffs. End these incredibly costly occupations. Not only roll back the Bewsh tax cuts NOW, but enact more taxes on the wealthy. This debt is ballooning so bad and unemployed people cannot be expected to prop it up. Stop the belief that "they'll just pass their tax onto the consumers" unless you subpoena them and make them admit in front of a camera that they'll do so.

The wealthy are never going to stop hurting us. The reason they do this is not out of love or hate for their employees, because that would imply it's personal. It's something far worse than that: it's that they simply don't CARE about our situations. They simply don't CARE that weakening employee power and continuing to hold mass firings would kill their businesses. Big deal. They'll just drive down costs even further, cut until there's nothing left to cut, import workers until most positions are filled with visa holders, and ramp up productivity on those that feel they're priviliged and HAPPY enough to HAVE a job.

When are these people going to start sharing the costs as well as the fruits?

Is it really going to take the unthinkable . . . a French Revolution Pt II . . . to make them care?

"We're all in this together!"

Er . . . except when we're not.

9. Why? Because Congress is composed of wealthy people put in power by other wealthy people.

10. The health care bill in the house and the senate even requires workers to pay for good health care
to help pay for others. However, when most of us say we want the wealthy to pay we don't mean working Americans who are still above the poverty line
