MSNBC: Chipping away by creating a new reality. It is jaw dropping to listen to how
most of the talking heads, starting with Tweety, have bald-face lied about how Obama doesn't get it and the WH is tone deaf.

MSNBC is single-handedly trying to win the election for Brown by hammering away at Martha Coakley and not mentioning one word about Brown.

For the last 48 hours the MSNBC talking heads have worked to re frame what is going on in the country.

MSNBC, Morning Joe and Tweety sez.....

"American's are more worried about jobs than a health care bill." "The WH has been distracted by health care and dropped the ball on creating jobs." "Martha Coakley is stupid because she doesn't know Boston baseball." "Martha Coakley bad" "Martha Coakley has foot in mouth disease" "Martha Coakley lazy" "Obama not popular"

I pray to the Almighty that Brown does not win.

5. The only good thing is no one listens to them or watches them anymore
Even me.

Believe me when I tell you that I used to be a TV political junkie. I even used to watch Crossfire before Jon Stewart publicly executed it. Hardball EVERY night. Every single Sunday morning news show. And now I don't. Why? They just don't have a shred of credibility any more. They make no effort whatsoever to present an unbiased view of anyone or anything. I keep Morning Joe on for background noise in the morning before I take off, but that is exactly what it is, background noise. I only perk up if Lawrence O'Doinnell is on.

Believe me, if I'm not watching them, no one is watching them. And life has really been a lot nicer once you get out of the bubble and get some fresh air.

10. I've also completely tuned out.
I used to leave GE-TV on all fricking day. Not anymore. Now I rarely tune in to cable nooze. I don't even leave it on for background noise. Fuck 'em.

16. I've stopped watching too.
But it's not the credibility problem. I am sick to death of hearing about the political doings in Washington. I just can't take any more. Even my DU use is down to about 10% of what it was.

On some level, I just don't care to hear any more. I've got to make the most of my life, and that's a full-time job.

18. No, those who let others do their thinking for them are still
watching them--and still following their directions and accepting their framing of the issues. Just because you were smart enough to percceive their bias and turn them off, that doesn't mean that everyone else was. A lot of people are still controlled by the media slant.

7. I don't think it's such a spin
The WH has dropped the ball on creating jobs. Mitt Romney just made that point on MSNBC. The average voter who doesn't pay enough attention is far more concerned about the economy and jobs than about health care.

13. sad to say, but there is some truth to the message.
What did his press secretary say yesterday? "WHere are the progressives?

That says it all. That is the best definition of tone deafness I have yet seen on politics. Obama's crew has just wasted a year pushing away progressives, and all of a sudden, we become important?

14. Obama says health care insurance reform is the key to economic growth because the
costs are overwhelming and cost jobs.

Without the reform, job growth is not certain.

15. damned straight! But, where the hell were they
in July? August?

That is when the tone was set. That is when the opposition filled in the blanks with lies (never denied by Obama). That is when Big Insurance spent 20,000,000 quite effectively. And Obama did nothing. You can't win many battles with silence.

17. How does Joey Scar get away with attacking Keith?
Although he never attacks Keith by name, he uses phases like "a certain liberal prime time host", but it is clear who he is refering to. How does NBC let him get away with that?

23. Respectfully - most people ARE more concerned about jobs

Losing their home, their family, and their self-respect can have huge consequences on one's health. Good nutrition and food have a lot more to do with how your body runs than any regular check up, and your access to good food is directly tied to your income.

With a job I at least have a chance at health.

With no job, and at least the way the health care bill is being touted, I would be one of those not covered by event the mandatory provisions of the Health Insurance Company Bailout Bill. I am extremely disappointed that we went from "public option" to apologists telling us how it is a good thing for the government to force people to do business with the very private companies that have been killing folks for a profit for so long. I do understand how many people have their ego tied up in this, and they are correct that there needs to be a change. But people shouldn't let their ego get in the way of reading what people really want.

I am a lifelong Democrat, and a lot of our strength came from organizing for labor, so we could feed our children and families, not so we could demand that we have the right to enrich greedy people for a questionable benefit.

The Democratic Party ignores this at its peril. I hope the brown shirt doesn't win in Mass today, but in a city where good Democrats SHOULD win they have to take responsibility for what they haven't done to insure that, not finger point at other people who are looking out for what they see as their own interests.

As far as MSNBC, you should not be surprised that so-called journalists would act any other way. They are a profit-making org, and know that controversy sells much more air time than being supportive of anything.

C'mon Coakley. I am pulling for you.
