Nancy Nails It
What did she nail?

The difference between how a Democratic Speaker of the House and a Republican Speaker of the House would handle the same question.

Pelosi takes time to discuss what would happen "if Republican Scott Brown becomes a Senator from Massachusetts"

Republicans, in their arrogance, would never entertain the question, would acknowledge no "if," would say something like "We don't need to discuss it because we're going to win...Why even ASK such a ridiculous question?"

...even if they're NOT.

The fact that she's considering "a question about how we would proceed" signals weakness...like it or not.

I'm not suggesting that Speaker Pelosi sign up for GOP 101 lessons.

I just hate getting out of bed and seeing shit like this first thing in the morning. Prepare for defeat, and the thing you have prepared for will find you, and it will swallow you whole.

Pelosi: A Brown win ‘doesn’t mean we won’t have a health care bill’

By Stephen C. Webster

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi appears to be undaunted by the special election in Massachusetts.

Speaking to reporters on Monday she suggested that even if Republican Scott Brown becomes a Senator from Massachusetts, it "doesn't mean we won't have a health care bill."

Instead, it would simply be "a question about how we would proceed," she explained, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

1. It's not weakness to plan for different outcomes
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 09:12 AM by lunatica
It's not even a perception of weakness. Except by those who don't do it. And who gives a shit about them except them?

2. The GOP sees that kind of thinking as weakness
I'm not suggesting that one shouldn't "plan for different outcomes."

And "who gives a shit about them except them?"

Voters, for one. "Republican strategists," for another, who like to craft this shit into campaign rhetoric that they email to Fox News as "talking points," which the Fox viewers who vote devour like pigs.

Look, you don't agree with what I've posted, and that's OK...I didn't post it to seek agreement (which you might have noticed by the inclusion of the "rant smiley" in my original post).

"It's not even a perception of weakness...."

...to YOU. I can accept that. To YOU. Just take that into consideration...or not.

4. Actually it wasn't you I was talking about
I thought you were stating that in general it's perceived as weakness in politics. Maybe it doesn't look like weakness to me because Pelosi sounds like a woman speaking assertively to me, another woman. Perception and point of view really are everything aren't they?

Peace :hi:

3. In our Society, the GOP is the WEAK LINK....They are minimalists...make big deals about
small crap...

They never see the larger picture...always focus on the small shit with empty language...

They are good at fooling people ....never at governing....
