There Will Be NO Exit Polls Today!
Edited on Tue Jan-19-10 02:13 PM by WeDidIt
Yep, you heard that right.

There will be NO exit polls today.

The consortium that does them never sets them up for special elections expected to be a blowout and by the time this race went into play, it was too late to develop a methodology.

So again, there will be NO exit polls today.

Any site reporting exit polling data today is blatantly lying.

2. At least there won't be the election day early release of raw data
that gets people's hopes up and then dashes them later when the real results come in.

3. No exit polls...Diebold machines...20 point last week turnaround...High voter turnout...
Yeah...A Brown win is going to be a hard sell. Sorry.....

4. Wow
I was hoping we'd at least be able to find out WHY people voted as they did. I hate that all we're going to have is speculation. Not to mention the Diebold issues. As much as the status quo generally annoys me, I've never wanted it more than I do today. I'm still hoping for a comfortable Coakley victory.

8. You won't have the breakaway music and the pundits calling the race
early after polls close, either.

They gotta wait for the results like everybody else.

6. They had nothing to base their model on....
The shift from a ho hum special election to the very nexus of tea baggers vs. the Dems is unprecidented.

As someone who has dabbled in polling, I would never wade into this mess.

9. But you can still expect somebody to push having "exit poll" data
showing a blowout one way or the other trying to depress the turnout.

7. That, along with Diebold machines and Coakley's 16-point drop in a week
smells really bad.

14. The campaigns likely will be doing their own exit polling.
But even if those results are leaked they would be unreliable. Particularly since the motivation for any leak might be questionable.

16. Rush Limbaugh just said Rasmussen will be doing exit polling
Yes, the blowhard actually said that on his radio show.

Rush Limbaugh lies a fucking lot, too.

There will be NO exit polls today.

20. Thanks.
I would imagine MSM will be doing their own unofficial polls.

Close race, Diebold, no official exit Polls. Not good.
