energy on that show. O well they can go back to telling us what the latest fashion color we will want to be wearing.

7. Chris Jansing just just announced it
too much pressure on Baba WaWa to keep her. Also, seems Rosie got a little raunchy in her act for a chilren's charity? I'm sure this story will grow legs....the wingnuts win another round

58. ABC offered her
a 3 year contract, she only wanted a one year contract. That is what "sealed the deal" so to speak. As for Joy and Rosie, during today's show, Rosie made a comment, and Joy, as usual, had a terrific comeback. Rosie stated something to the effect that she will say something, and Joy will hit it out of the park. Joy then responded with "I am going to miss you".

The View just lost another viewer, no pun intended. I had lost interest some time ago, until Rosie went on board. Such a loss.

73. I didn't say she was fired. I said
she knew her days were numbered. Whether she knew she didn't want to do the show any longer or she knew ABC didn't want her around, doesn't really matter. She knew and decided to talk about subjects the MSM won't touch: 911 and the way our politicians and media portray Muslims. Even though I never watched the show, I do admire Rosie for speaking out.

Edited on Wed Apr-25-07 09:25 AM by merh
was too much, way over the top and it was embarassing to Walters and others.

This doesn't surprise me in the least. She has no one to blame but herself for this, talking about giving fat mean blow jobs at the function she was at was just poor taste and without humor.

18. yes, I would think it was the proverbial last straw
and I don't think she was thinking.

From the footage I saw, it was a pretty distasteful bit and she got about as many laughs as Rich Little at the Press Dinner at the WH. I mean one of the jokes was something about giving a blowjob to a bald angry millionaire.

There are some folks that just don't handle success, once they hit a peek they sabbatoge themselves. Then again, there are some that get so full of themselves they think they can say anything at anytime. This time, her timing was way off, imho.

I watched the footage and cringed, the first thought I had was she just blew her job on the view. She kept taunting Walter's too, "oh no, Barbara's looking down, I've upset Barbara" -- it was stupid.

22. Here is the article on the poor job she did
She was the emcee for pete's sake.

Rosie O’Donnell And Donald Trump’s Bad Taste

THE awards may have been intended to celebrate women in the media, but there was nothing ladylike about emcee Rosie O'Donnell who finished off a rant about her archnemisis Donald Trump by grabbing her crotch and shouting, "Eat me."

O'Donnell's boss on the View, talk show host doyenne Barbara Walters, covered her face with her hands, according to the New York Post's Page Six.

Rosie O'Donnell Takes Aim at Murdoch

Trump is old news to O'Donnell. She's moved on to the conservative media mogul
AP

NEW YORK, Apr. 24, 2007 - Rosie O'Donnell has tossed off countless one-liners and quips in her career. On Monday, she had one line she said she never imagined she'd utter: "Please welcome Rupert Murdoch."
O'Donnell was hosting the New York Women in Communication annual awards luncheon at The Waldorf-Astoria hotel in Manhattan. Murdoch, the media mogul, was presenting an award to columnist Cindy Adams.

O'Donnell's shots at Murdoch started from her opening.

"This is a celebration of women who changed the world, and no one understands why Rupert Murdoch is on the dais," she said, adding, "I mean that in the kind, loving Post-like way, sir; it's delightful to see you in person."

(snip)

"I would like to point out that Rosie's view is not always mine," she said. "I would like to say for the record that I am very fond of Rupert Murdoch."

with 17 year olds in the audience was about as offensive and insulting as anything Imus did involving the young basketball team. All I can say is WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING esepecially in light of what happened to Imus. I think she at least at the smarts to take herself out before she was drug out by all those who were gearing up to take her out.

it was helping get the progressive side out to your average busy suburban housewife-you know; the one who is really too distracted to pay attention to politics and world happenings and those pesky facts. The ones with Repub husbands who vote that way because they don't know any better.
I really believe she could and did have an impact in a section of the populace it is hard to reach. The Oprah crowd; if you will--the ones everyone is trying to sell to.
Every little bit helps......

"The View" could be all downhill from here...

File this under "Things We Saw Coming Months Ago": Rosie's leaving "The View," probably taking this season's 500,000 viewer spike with her.

The Ro will not disappear just yet, though. Last I checked, she was still in the mix to reprise her "Nip/Tuck" role, either on the FX series or as a spinoff, and she's being courted to host her own talk show.

Here's the skinny from the L.A. Times:
Controversial daytime talk show host Rosie O'Donnell announced today that she's leaving "The View" less than a year after joining the ABC gabfest.

I could not STAND that show until she got on and now I try to arrange my schedule to watch it. I simply adored her on it, loved seeing her broadcast leftwing thought and truth right smack dab into Middle America's living rooms, and I also loved how well she MC'd the show.

I will miss her terribly, altho she said she's not actually LEAVING, just won't be on every day. I don't know if that means she'll be off and on about like Barbara Walters, or if she'll just be guest host now and then, or what.

68. Rosie is the brave girl who would stand up to bullies in the playground.
It's just who she is. It's in her DNA. She always sides with the underdog. I admire her greatly. She makes almost all the talking heads squirm because she cares not for power, money or presige like they do. She says what they should be saying.

I think she is one of the most fascinating Americans alive today. I'd love to meet her and her family, but am quite content to quietly admire her and to, always, stick up for her...because she sticks up for so many all by herself.

74. Right. And she's hysterically funny, and
her politics are damned near perfect.

56. Her messages on 9-11, *, et al, reached a demographic that was being
censored by MSM. She was the only outlet of truth for many.

Apparently Botox (TM) didn't need a spokesmodel after all, so she's still available. :P Just what we need: an hour a day of her exchanging inane right-wing tidbits with the twit. :puke: I mean, it's about time conservatives had a voice in the mainstream media, don'tcha think? :sarcasm:
