Vice President Cheney exiting his motorcade in Foggy Bottom to scattered boos from pedestrians as he went to visit his doctor at George Washington University. A spokeswoman later said doctors were checking on that blood clot in his lower left leg -- seems to be improving, they say.

3. He got the same reaction at the 2004 coron . .. er . .. inauguration, times 10.
I think a snowball made it to his car, causing the several layers of police protection in that area to get all anal twitchy.

Luckily for them, their souls were extracted long ago, replaced with a used charcoal briquet. So they feel nothing and care nothing about the anger of the peasantry.

10. When I was there, it was mentioned
. . . by one of the older protestors that five layers of police protection for miles is something akin to what third world tin-pot dictators have reserved for them in their motorcades. I wondered how many speeders, drunk drivers, etc were free to roam on highways while this spectacle went on.

It was pretty telling, considering how this empire vision has turned into a wholesale failure since then.

9. I think there's one in every group.
Someone, who is so loathed. So despised. So hated, that all normal forms of decorum go out the window.

I used to work with such a guy. He'd been there almost 25 years. It was a good union job. Almost impossible to get fired. Even if you somehow managed that, you got back to work on appeal.

This guy managed to get fired (someone set him up), lost his appeals and never did get back. A few years later, you should have seen the graffiti scrawled on his death notice in the locker room.

When Dead-eye Dick finally croaks, there will be parties and celebrations all over the country.
