Wow, Tornado warnings in southwest Los Angeles County.
All the way to Yorba Linda in Orange County, birthplace of Tricky Dick.

Wish my down the mountain homies well. As for us here on the mountaintop, it's snowing dime size flakes, started merely a half-hour ago, and has already accumulated an inch. Gonna be a long day and night. Power has already gone out here once.

2. At the beach in OC
The run-off is over the sidewalk in our front yard. Just looked across the street. Guess their house is lower, the water is higher.

7. I'm a regular at Dog Beach...
We drove past yesterday and it was quite a scene! There were actually a couple of people with dogs! Argh! It was warm and sunny Sunday morning, so we walked the dogs, but by evening, it was another story!

Lots of "orange blobs" still on the way... stay safe!

3. We lucked out today
with rain in the valley and snow politely clinging to the mountains here in NM.

The temperatures are supposed to dive for the next two, though.

4. Yesterday we had a slush storm, followed by a hard freeze last night.
I spent all morning breaking 2" of solid ice on my driveway, and part of the afternoon shoveling it away. My arms now go all the way to my knees. It started snowing as SOON as I was finished, dammit. Now there's already an inch and a half of powder in my driveway again!

5. Anything I can sweep off with a broom is OK
What I can't stand is that heavy, wet stuff, heart attack snow and if you don't shovel the damned stuff immediately, it freezes solid.

Fortunately this town has no snow plows so the driveway doesn't get reburied 3 times after I clear it.

6. We are on a hill and feel pretty safe in central L.A.
Good luck to all who live south of us.

I haven't heard of any damage in the Los Angeles mountains. Did anyone else?
