A party known for lying, cheating, stealing and killing "wins"
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 04:49 AM by live love laugh
using machines known for stealing votes and everybody piles on their bandwagon and blames their opponents for losing.

Makes sense to me.

:sarcasm:

2. And what have the Democrats done to address this?
Everybody has known about those machines for years, yet they are still in use. Why? If our elections are able to be compromised by machines, and the Democrats know it, why are those machines still in use? The Dems have done nothing about it.

So much for change. :eyes:

4. The Party That Wanted It More Won...Just That Simple...
Brown outworked and outhustled Coakley. The GOOP for all its warts and problems saw this election as a rallying point...a chance to get back in the win column and worked their asses off to make it happen. Blaming machines is a simple way to wash away the reality that holding power and governing is a lot more difficult than campaigning.

8. Or the establishment candidate lost
We don't get an essay from each voter. They had three buttons to use in conveying their voice. Assuming a greater meaning to that is dangerous.

19. If we assume thats the cause
and it really is then some good might come of it. If it's not and we don't address it then the next elections result would be the same.

10. Both parties are highly corrupt: Our system is broken through and through ...

FASCISM in the USA has been realized within the right-wing duopoly of today.

http://www.counterpunch.org/kuzminski08182004.html

What is likely is the continued consolidation of the right-wing duopoly, most evident in the erosion of civil liberties and the war on terrorism. Somewhere along the line, America lost its political freedom without even realizing it.

The last meaningful opposition to the duopoly was perhaps Ross Perot's presidential candidacy in 1992. His presence in the presidential debates and his subsequent garnering of almost twenty percent of the vote -- in spite of dropping out of the race and then reentering it -- may be the most underappreciated event in recent American political history. Perot was no social activist liberal, but he showed what an open political process might achieve. Afterward, the duopoly regrouped and created a rigged, 'bi-partisan,' corporate-sponsored debate commission dedicated to making sure that no third party candidate would ever again enjoy such exposure to the voters.

The coming darkness is the eclipse of American political freedom and the unchecked reign of a venal, arrogant, and ignorant ruling class. Onerous as its depredations at home are likely to be, even more omnious is its immoral, illegal, and criminal policy of preemptive war abroad. There is no end to the war on terrorism, since a terrorist is increasingly defined as anyone who opposes the duopoly at home or abroad.

14. YOU ARE DENYING THE OBVIOUS: WE DESERVED TO LOSE.
We lost because we were Republican-lite all year in Washington and sucked up to the corporations instead of the people. We don't have time for your tin foil excuses.

15. That's your theory. I'll stick to the truth--that Republicons are lying cheating scum who
shouldn't be trusted. Not in this election, not in government, not ever.

Suck up to the corporations?

Did you know you are sucking up to a corporation? The diebold corporation.
The irony of you is astounding. I doubt you even realize it.

We don't want a corporation counting our votes, but you are fine with it?
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzt!

in order to buy this whole scenario.

Really.

Where have I seen this played out before?

Remember 2004 when zillions turned out to defeat George Bush but the media showed us pretty red maps and told us that voters wanted "family values." :eyes:

Same game.

Only this time we are to believe that the majority who polled as favoring health care last week and in the months prior suddenly reject it--in a state that is traditionally already Democratic. That's two rejections.

Explain it however you care to, I will stick to what I know for sure.

Republicans are lying cheating murderous treasonous greedy vermin and they can and will steal elections like this one.
