We may have a 59 seat thing going on, but in reality we have very few liberal democrats.
What we do have is a bunch of elected officials that serve corporations first, the people second.
I think we may have 98 or 99 corporate senators. Perhaps 10 or 20 of them are liberal.

1. It's all theater, or reality TV.......
If it wasn't theater, six years of GOP holding Congress and The White House would have resulted in Roe v. Wade being overturned, a Flat Tax, privatization of Social Security and any number of other backwards looking stuff.

What the Tea Baggers have finally figured out, and what many of us also realize, is that the game is rigged and that the wealthy are going to reap the spoils of this declining empire regardless of which set of wealthy executives are running the show. And the Tea Baggers buy the GOP's story line and we are beating our heads against the wall to get the Democrats to come up with a better story line.

4. I meant to imply that the GOP will never overturn Roe v. Wade
For one thing, it gets them votes.....but more important to the apolitical elite, it cuts down on the number of unwanted children that will eventually become criminals.
