Sigh. We really are going backwards. Is this even legal? Like white players don't grab their crotches, flip people off, act unsportsmanlike, etc. :eyes:


New basketball league open to whites only, to get away from the ‘street-ball’ played by ‘people of color.’


A new professional basketball league called the All-American Basketball Alliance (AABA) sent out a press release on Sunday saying that it intends to start its inaugural season in June, with teams in 12 U.S. cities. However, the AABA is different from other sports leagues because only players who are “natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race are eligible to play in the league.” AABA commissioner Don “Moose” Lewis insists that he’s not racist, but he just wants to get away from the “street-ball” played by “people of color” and back to “fundamental basketball.” Lewis cited the recent incidents of bad behavior by NBA players, implying that such actions would never happen with white players:



The AABA is targeting Southern cities, but one proposed city — Augusta, GA — is opposed to the league. Several other cities have reportedly told Lewis to “stay out of town.” Watch a report by August tv station WJBF at link~

I think it's the heretofore hidden racism that reared its ugly head as a result of Obama's election. And many GOPers have made it acceptable -- a badge of honor. Where's the birth certificate? As though nobody knows what that really means. :eyes:

One instance where I'm more than happy to watch a few fools and their money get parted.

What makes it bigoted to me is the motivation. Plenty of non-whites play non "street ball" fundamental basketball.

There is in my old town a very good theatrical society open only to black actors and crew. Is that going to get the same reaction? Is racial exclusion acceptable for a 13% demographic and not a 60-70%? Where do we draw the line?

How will they pay the players?
How will they pay the rent for the court?

Bet they will receive plenty of subsidized funding to offset their expenses.

How many cities will build basketball arenas for the teams?

Wouldn't it be a better idea for these white guys to play another sport? Then, the relative few white guys who can hold their own against black guys on the court can actually show off their skills IN A LEAGUE THAT PEOPLE WILL ACTUALLY WATCH!

My experience has been the frequently black people do not think what liberal white people think they should think. My black friend has had a white girlfriend for a lot of years. His family HATES black guys dating white girls.
