1. Thanks. The link describes what happened. This is a huge hint:
'The lobbying group Focus on the Family said it was preparing to contact advertisers on “The View” as part of a campaign against O'Donnell. The group is angry at O'Donnell for comments they feel were insulting to Catholics.'

Rosie was aware of what was coming. At least BW gave her the opportunity to make the announcement as if it was Rosie's decision to leave and did not slay her as she did Star Jones.

2. She tried to save face with Star Jones as well
Star Jones just didn't let her.

3. I doubt it
Rosie increased the show's ratings enormously, and that's all that matters.

I have no reason to doubt the official story - they wanted a three-year contract and Rosie wanted one year, and too much money.

4. Actually Jones had the same opportunity, but refused to bow
out gracefully. Instead she made the announcement on air to the surprise of everyone. Don't get me wrong, Jones was fired, she just was given the opportunity to say she was moving on or retiring or whatever and instead made a scene.

6. Made a scene? Did you watch her last appearance?
Star told the truth matter-of-factly and BW didn't want the truth to be told. (The truth that she told Star her ratings were bad, she had to leave but she could make up a "story" and BW would go along with it.) So she stopped Star from working a minute more on the View by having the producer call Star and telling her she was no longer welcome on the set.

Believe me, if BW is behind the loss of Rosie, Rosie will never appear in any one hour specials or return as a co-host as Rosie stated today.

Star also said she would be on the View until her contract ended but that did not happen - BW banned her from returning.
