8. He couldn't afford me.
...and I really have no interest in the job.

That said, almost anybody would be better than some of the advisors he has working for him now.

37. Thanks :)
Like I said, though, Obama has set the bar pretty low.

The people he's surrounded himself with are so dead-set on promoting their own agendas that the rest of us (300 million or so of us) get lost in the shuffle. Anybody with decent problem-solving skills and no personal agenda would be better.

And out of sheer curiosity, what has he done to show you that he is courageous?

Not baiting you, I'm just trying to understand the mindset.

34. How do you define courage?
I define it as standing up and facing adversity and taking risks for people who are not in a position to help themselves. I haven't seen him do that or anything like it. So i am curious. How do you define courage?

13. OTHER
What does Obama fear most?

that people are going to find out he's a big fake

$BILLIONS for crooked bankers, appoints the same crooked bankers to banking oversight positions (after promising not to appoint insiders)

$BILLIONS for oil wars without end, rammed through congress by intimidation in a matter of weeks, yet in almost a year he can't pass real health care reform with a super majority. (BECAUSE THE PEOPLE THAT OWN HIM DON'T WANT THAT)

promised open government, closed door meetings with bankers and drug companies. Promised to close Gitmo, after 1 year they just declared they are holding POW's indefinitely without charge, that's fascism plain and simple. Promised to raise taxes on the rich, LOLZ! Who are you trying to kid.

$BILLIONS for crooked health care. health insurance lobbies the senate and gets what they want, evidenced by the end of said lobbying. Obama then declares, "this is the bill we need signed"

ZIP ZERO NADA, for the average working man on the street. In fact it's gotten worse.

"We Are Change" is a fictional TV show brought to you by the corporations, and Obama is just an actor.

“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America – I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you – we as a people will get there.” President-Elect Barack Obama, November 4, 2008

35. Corporate America and their crosshairs.
Ask the last president who tried to put a needed rein on Big Money (specifically, steel interests, energy interests and the MIC) where that got him.

Oh wait, you can't. He's taking a dirt nap in Arlington with his brother.

11/22/63 was a message which every president has abided by since then:

"This is OUR country. These are OUR rules. And don't you FORGET it."

They didn't even need to do it with a military to put down revolt. Big Money bought media. They had a political party in their pockets from the get-go (and later on, BOTH of them). They organized think tanks in the late 60s - early 70s. They used framing, enemy creation, dialogue almost lifted straight out of 1984, and stirred it all up with some folksy seasoning and Horatio Alger bullshit, all to their advantage. They convinced more than half the population that the "have too littles" were the source of all their problems . . . many of whom WERE the "have too littles".

They usurped offices using dirty trickery, lies, fearmongering and homespun cornpone.

Nutso? Conspiracy? What's that other word they use . . . "woo woo"? :eyes: :eyes:

Name ONE modicum of progress the middle/working/poor classes have recieved since the early 1970s.

Our wages have stagnated, unions have been defanged, job creation has mostly been the product of bubbles (which always lead to crashes, each subsequent one worse than the last), creative shifting, putting BOTH spouses in the workforce for what they used to just pay ONE, no universal health care (in fact, health care has gotten far worse with each passing decade), lower and lower taxes on the wealthy while putting all of the responsibility, risk and loss on US, gutting social programs while giving the MIC the keys to the kingdom, layoffs aplenty, a cost of living that wages cannot keep up with and a skyrocketing National Debt reciprocal to the worth of the economy to show for all of this wasteful spending.

People aren't rebelling. So shit will not change.

THEIR needs come first. Foremost. And as we're seeing lately . . . ONLY.

One party at least puts up the illusion of a fight before capitulating into status quo hell. The other goes ankles up for their needs from the get-go. Like a good little lapdog.

They got us by the short hairs. A third party is never going to rise up without corporate dollars backing it or the corporate media supporting them. And they won't back them. There ain't gonna BE no more Ross Perots. Another lesson learned, just like the one about broadcasting citizen demonstrations. "Didn't happen on TV, didn't happen".

I REALLY want to believe he's a good guy.

What he needs to do is to start FIGHTING, no matter WHAT THE COST. This country's strength . . . it's working people . . . are at stake. This country is NOTHING without citizens. We're NOT a 60s South American neo-feudalist state.

Somewhere inside, he needs to find it in him to start FIGHTING for US. Start giving back our RIGHTS. Start TAXING the wealthy. Start heavily taxing offshoring corporations. Place a miniscule tax on trade transactions. Defang this bloated military and stop these useless occupations. Close Gitmo. Build things. Repair things. Shore up our worse-than-useless social safety net. Institute a WPA program to make up for the private sector selfishness.

And after that . . . get a bulletproof Popemobile and 24-7 heavily screened armed guards.
