The war in Iraq is just like paying Alimony
Alimony is pay for a loving relationship that is long over.

Why is it that the war in Iraq is apparently over but we are still paying for it as if the Marines were just now hitting the beach? You'd think that when the troops leave the battlefield the cost of the war would decrease, but apparently not.

How in hell is it that every year, year after year, we have to spend more and more and more on "Defense" when year after year after year we are told we are less safe? Just what sort of insanity is that?

1. I guess we need another GWOT meme.
How can you spend a trillion dollars on useless shit unless we have someone to blow up?
