ever tried eye exercises to improve your vision?

I've seen books on the subject but never tried it.

1. Good question...
I've wondered about the same. My main problem is astigmatism... but I refuse to have my cornea reshaped! :scared:

9. Google "eye exercises to improve vision." I recall from looking at a book about

it, there were exercises like looking far away and then close, holding your palms over your eyes, etc.

4. I read about it once.
But after trying them, I didn't see any difference. But then when I buy new specs, they give me a free white cane.

5. I read a book about that years ago
BS. However, great subject to sell a book. I had Lasik 10 years ago and it was one the best ways I have ever spent my money. At that time I had to go to Canada to have it done.

6. Eye Exercises are good for people with small motor problems
My daughter benefited greatly from them. After 2 months, she could read. Before, she couldn't focus enough to follow the line of text. She would get lost in the middle of a five letter word.

But there are no exercises that can reshape the cornea to bring the focal point to where it is supposed to be, nor even to make up for the lack of ability to focus down when one becomes 50 or so. Nor for astigmatism.

Lasik has so many problems and complications. If I were to get surgery for my daughter's myopia and astigmatism, it would be complete lens replacement, just like that used for cataract surgery.

8. I did when I was a child.
Half-hour everyday, as I recall. I also have (or had) astigmatism and the exercises were supposed to help with that. I think after a fashion they did, but not to any measurable extent. I had to look through a Viewmaster-type thing (and for those who don't know what Viewmasters were, they were binocular-type glasses that you could slide film discs through, like a slideshow) and focus on making two images merge into one -- trying to strengthen the eye muscles.
