Coakley-Brown really was a national referendum on Barack Obama. Even if it wasn't.

I looked at the polls, at the commentary. Some of the arguments seemed pretty solid. You almost had me. I was confused.

Then the fog cleared and I saw the big picture.

Even if the people of Massachusetts elected Scott Brown based solely on local politics, it only shows that they've lost interest in national politics.

This could not have happened in November 2008. A little over a year later and the people are still looking for change. Elsewhere.

1. It was more than just Obama.

He's getting most of the heat but this is really about the years of capitulation and collaboration by the Democrats in congress that the left of the party are fed up with.

2. no- it was a pretty boy public relations success.

It was a campaign which fed into the worst of us all, (anger, self-interest, and revenge) launched against an opponent who couldn't or wouldn't put forth the effort required to win.

change is often painful and usually takes longer than most people like. there is no magic wand that is going to heal what ails this country overnight.

If you thought Pres.Obama was the messiah, you have every right to feel disillusioned. I voted for a man who promised to do his best to help us all work together toward a better future for everyone.
