Saab to be sold to Spyker
"General Motors Co. has reached a deal to sell its Swedish Saab brand to Dutch luxury automaker Spyker Cars NV.

GM did not disclose terms of the deal. But according to Bloomberg News, Spyker agreed to pay $74 million in cash and $326 million in preferred shares in the company that would emerge from the deal.

Spyker will form a new company, Saab Spyker Automobiles, and will continue to sell vehicles under the Saab brand.

The Swedish government is reviewing the transaction and a request for a Saab Automobile loan from the European Investment Bank. The deal could close in mid-February."

Hopefully this deal works out.

3. Pontiac a grill style and a dealership network.
All the cars are the same as the GM/Opel designs sold by other divisions, save that ghastly Austalian derived thing they've been selling.

6. Well, sort of...
I have had the hots for the Pontiac G6 convertible (power hard top) for two years now. I will probably buy a new car this year, but GM never offered this vehicle on any other lines. And I won't buy an orphan, especially one with so many model-specific parts and service procedures.

7. Case in point. Aside from the top and front fascia, what's different from a Malibu?

11. Yes
Pontiac and Saturn were both redundant brands. I did like the Saturn designs though. But now Buick will get Opel vehicles (rather than Saturn). Unfortunately, the Buicks will be a little too expensive for me.

5. YES! I want to see a new 900 with scissor doors and 500 horsepower!
No idea how they'll make it mid-engined, but they'll figure it out.
