New Metro Board Member Sees 'Serious Disorder' in Transit Agency

William C. Flook
The Washington Examiner

WASHINGTON, DC - The first federal appointee to have a vote on Metro's board said the D.C. region's transit agency is "in serious disorder," and it will require significant steps to turn the situation around.

2. It took my husband 2 hours to get home yesterday
instead of the normal 45 minutes. He hasn't seen "normal" operation at Metro for a long time, although he's been commuting on the Red Line for almost 20 years. Last night he had to wait while 7 full trains passed by before he could board one to get home.

He grew up in NYC and says he's never seen such problems on the New York subways as he does daily on Metro. And the Metro train operators are just plain nasty.
