and he stole Ohio once.

20. I spent many hours digging before concluding that 2004 was stolen.
And not just in OH. But anyway, you're probably right about Reagan. I don't know anything about those elections so I can't speak to that. On the other hand, while Jack Kennedy might have been the first candidate that benefited from media coverage, Raygun was the first one that was a media creation, imho.

Incurious and undereducated. Listen to Michael Moores interview on DemocracyNow today. He throws out a figure of 40 million functionally illiterate adults in the US and talks about how Bush the Younger appealed to them as he made it "cool" to be stupid. I'm sorry, I don't have a whole lot of faith in the electorate.

17. The thing is, there is this whole huge right wing media machine
that works 24/7 to shape public opinion. How can a working person compete with that? And the example of Junior the Torture President is a good one. The presstitutes sold him really hard. :shrug:

you can not blame them for the Ignorance. Blame TV News.

If they are told, they remain ignorant.

Example: One Program 30 minutes on Edwards and he is no
longer in Politics. 1-2 minutes on the SC Decision on Corporations
and Elections.

Rarely, do they point out the truth so people are left with lies.

15. A lot of them are smart enough not to take the political charade very seriously.
The players change but the play's the same. And, as drama a flop, as comedy, it's losing it's audience. (Except for Palin, she still offers a pretty good schtick of real wackiness).

Rahm said that the idea of running attack ads against more conservative Dems was "fucking retarded"...which, depending on one's views, and despite the language he used, is actually correct.

people are surprisingly dumb in the USA....so many don't know how to put sentences together, have no knowledge of civics, and probably shouldn't be allowed to vote(yeah i know it's elitist). it's very discouraging.

blame them entirely on this last point. We have a broadcast MSM that only gives them the news they want the public to hear.
On being self-absorbed, so many people have so much on their own personal plates, they are dancing as fast as they can to survive.
