Repugs hijack another great song... excuse me while
I toss my lunch.

:argh:

"...Tea Party organizer and Republican commission candidate Matt Nye pounced, questioning the cost to taxpayers. Nye edited video of the vote from government TV into the first salvo in his primary race against Bolin. With The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" playing as a soundtrack..."

How DARE they? Townshend would have a FIT

Besides, they're desecrating it just by using it.
Obviously they don't even get what the song is about :freak:

Morons

5. The producers of CSI pay for the use of that song
I highly doubt this GOP candidate has paid any royalties.

9. I'm sure not-- I remember numerous times
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 07:16 PM by ailsagirl
in the last decade when the repugs hijacked good music,
always getting their hands slapped for doing so.

This is the most outrageously flagrant one yet!!

7. Yep-- it's actually some 40 years old (can't believe it!)

Someone on YouTube commented that the CSI: Miami theme ("Won't Get
Fooled Again") would be GREAT as a full-length song and that someone
should do one. Someone answered, "They already have..."

:smoke:

2. It may have been the wrong people playing the song...
...but "Meet the new boss; same as the old boss," has never been more relevant.

3. OMFG
They are treading on sacred ground in the Rock and Roll world. They best unass The Who now. That is so wrong on so many levels, I do not know where to begin.

6. Be kind
You know they don't have any original ideas, and someone told them that music was a good way to draw in the masses. The cease-and-desist letter from the Who's record label will follow shortly. If they continue to use music without permission, they may find out that there are some oppressive forces in the world uniquely worse than anything the government might do to them.

12. Another mispronunciation from junior...
Edited on Wed Jan-27-10 09:53 PM by ailsagirl
I was watching part of the Kennedy Honors 2008, when The Who
were honored. junior was reading the encomium. Because the
camera cut back & forth between Daltrey/Townshend and junior,
I ended up watching it.

Near the end (3:25), junior said (read?):
"... still resignates in the music industry" instead of
resonates

I'm sure Pete had a laugh about that.
