Ah Yes, Today Is The Day I Am So Very Proud To Have Stood By ACORN
Edited on Wed Jan-27-10 12:41 AM by berni_mccoy
And today is yet another day where we learn the GOP/Fox and the Teabaggers are just a long history of thugs and brutes who would do anything, including criminal behavior, to make up anything that may remotely look bad against Democrats or anyone else who doesn't side with them.

Every now and again, their tactics work, for the short term. When these most recent thugs broke their b.s. "story" on ACORN, I knew it was just what it smelled like. While the MSM, the general public, and sadly, some lefties on the blogosphere, including some members of DU, gasped in horror at the fiction Fox/Norquist/Breitbart/Teabaggers/O'Keefe/Limbaugh laid out before them, some of us members of DU dug and researched and found the facts. Eventually, it was shown that the fiction these thugs presented was exactly that: a sensational fiction crafted for a single purpose of damaging the liberal cause.

And now, today, they are hoisted up by their own petard. Yes, justice has found a way to prevail. Maybe the next pimp&whore story from Fox won't be so trusted. Maybe the next time, those who could not control their knee-jerk will think of this day. This day, when I am so very proud to have stood against the b.s. and for an organization like ACORN.

it's some kind of scheme to fuck over regular good people. It's almost like a physical Newtonian law.

Right wing bastards are always involved in some kind of scheme to fuck over regular good people.

The GOP sends amateurs like O'Keefe after organizations like ACORN.

They send pros after a Democratic President like Obama.

Don't believe even half the shit you read that makes Obama look bad. So many on the left have been misled by the Media on him, it's clear they have pulled out all the big talent to take Obama down. And so far, they are winning this fight.

tapes with anything but skepticism, considering the source. The media coverage of it was a disgrace. Clearly they had influence with the media to be able to get the attention they got. My guess is that someone like Morton Blackwell or Karl Rove passed the story to the media.

And Fox went wild, having them on with Karl Rove, Greta Van Sustern et al as they lied and lied, which of course will benefit ACORN in its several lawsuits against them now.

A few people here helped stop the tide from turning against ACORN as in the beginning, people did just what these thugs wanted, didn't look closely at the videos and didn't consider the source and what they are capable of.

But I reserve most of my anger for Congressional Democrats. Only 37 of them refused to vote on that Republican bill to defund ACORN based on those phony tapes. They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and I'd still like to hear from them as to why they did that. So glad ACORN won their lawsuit against Congress and I'm sure they'll win against O'Keefe, Giles and Breitbart. But the media has remained silent about the debunking of that stunt and the victory ACORN won in court.

Someone very powerful is behind these thugs, most likely Rove and Blackwell et al. It's about time to completely expose these anti-democratic thugs.

And it's time for all Democrats to fully support the work done by ACORN and to stand up for them and keep telling the truth about the lies told by O'Keefe and Giles because the media refuses to do it. And to think twice before falling for any more of these dirty tricks.

25. You might want to look a little closer at what O'Keefe did to ACORN
James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, two "conservative" activists, went to ACORN offices to receive advice on running a (fictitious) child prostitution ring. According to Media Matters, in AT LEAST six of the eight videos "ACORN employees at those offices either were not clearly informed that underage prostitutes were involved, refused to help, appeared to deliberately respond with wildly over-the-top statements, or contacted the police after Giles and O'Keefe had left; moreover, ACORN employees at at least two of the offices advised Giles to file tax returns."

16. They won their lawsuit against the gov't on the grounds the law to defund them was Unconstitutional
The injunction against the law was enforced. I don't know if the judgement will be appealed by the gov't.

Back when this fake story broke, my girlfriend's step dad was gloating about it on facebook, linking to the article on that stupid biggovernment.com site. He refused to listen when I pointed out that the lying article was co-attributed to Ken Blackwell, therefore it had especially had no credibility. I think they used Ken's name to hide behind lest accusations of racism were pointed their way.

26. I agee with you for once
But I'd add that on the list of those who did not stand by ACORN the name Barack Obama is clearly near the top. I did not hear a word from him when those ACORN tapes, so clearly faked, came out.
Too bad he did not stand with those who helped elect him. Again.

as well.

And just because he was quiet on the subject, does not mean he wasn't doing anything behind the scenes. Not everything requires a press conference or a public statement. ACORN won their lawsuit and it does not look like the gov't will appeal its decision.

The GOP sends losers like O'Keefe after ACORN. They send the pros after Democratic Presidents.

If you believe half of the bad shit reported against Obama is real, then sadly you've fallen prey to the mature versions of O'Keefe.
