"the most reasonable person in the room"

Barack Obama possesses a talent that drives his detractors crazy: the ability to come across as the most reasonable person in the room. This is an enviable political gift, one that makes the churlishness of his opponents all the more glaring. Tonight’s speech may not change any minds, but it reinforces the sense of decency and intelligence that this president consistently brings to the job.

3. not to mention the snarling crabby old man behind him.
As I said tonight, "isn't it great to have a Vice-President with such a great smile?"

8. Ain't it the truth! And Obama's smile as he entered the room and when he mentioned Michelle's
work for children's health and the camera went to her and back to him. So sweet.

4. Always brings a smile to my lips every time I realize that.
Luckily I find myself thinking about or remembering that guy less and less each day.
