Tea Partiers Come Clean
Edited on Sat Feb-06-10 08:43 AM by erpowers
The Tea Party Movement has finally come clean about there motives. Today, it was reported on ABC Good Morning America Weekend that members of the Tea Party Movement are now saying that they do not want a third party movement; they want to move the Republican Party to the right. When this movement first started the leaders tried to claim they were an Independent movement that was concerned about debt and taxes. From the beginning Democrats pointed out that this movement was nothing more than a right wing movement that was upset that a Democrat had been elected president. Now Democrats have been proven right.

2. And in the next room at their convention, they want a third party
The teabaggers are all over the map. The only thing they all have in common is ignorance.

3. I don't know about "finally" coming clean
For anyone who's been paying attention (which lets out most of the popular media), it's been pretty apparent that this has been almost exclusively a Republican party phenomenon. But "Republicans in disarray" isn't one of the chosen narratives for the corporations that bring us the "news." In addition to what ABC is reporting about the Teabaggers wanting to move the Republican Party to the right, there's the Teabaggers own little manifesto (reported by Fox - surprise!) that says any candidates looking to be Teabagged should cleave to the Republican Party Platform. Or else.

Shocking!

14. Finally They Admit
At the very beginning of this movement a number of the people connected to the movement tried to claim they were an independent movement. Finally some of the tea partiers themselves are beginning to acknowledge that they are a right wing movement trying to move the Republican Party to the right.

18. Oh, definitely
It served their purposes early on to appear to be some kind of grass-roots "nonpartisan" group, concerned only about the best and most efficient government they could get. Oddly silent for eight years of the Bush administration, the narrative was that these people had suddenly woken up to be concerned about "runaway government spending" and the deficit, two topics that got you labeled a traitor who didn't support the troops during the Reign of Error.

Now it's fashionable again to talk about the debt burden we're saddling our grandchildren with, and the popular media absolutely love that narrative, because it means cutting a bunch of low-cost government programs that don't benefit them anyway. Defense and subsidies for hobby farms are sacrosanct, so they're all in favor of reporting about cuts to social security or food stamps.

This is just more of the same ruinous policies from the Bush/Cheney years with a fresh coat of Patriot Paint.

5. Not According To C-Spin...
They currently have a Teabag organizer on claiming that this is a "grassroots movement" and did admit that he doubts there are many "Conservative Democrats" who are Teabaggers. Of course CSPIN allows him to spread bullshit. Any calls that question the Armey connections are dismissed as "propaganda".

The shitstain...Mark Skoda also just happens to be a hate radio host...hmmm...surely getting the daily blast fax from the right wing groups. I'd love to find out how much money he's being shoveled under the table to deny the GOOP connections. And of course, CSPIN quickly cuts off callers who dare to ask a tough question.

8. I guess their sparsley attended convention shows them that
their movement is very small and the best they can hope for is to influence the GOP. Too bad for them (GOP) that the leaders of these whackos are such outspoken bigots. They will be putting out fires all election season. Good for us.

11. Probably half of them were the media
Just causes (gay rights) never get the air time like these idiots are receiving. I don't know why, but it seems it has been this way forever :shrug:or at least since Reagan. I don't remember the 60's being this way - I remember news coverage of the war every night and the protests, too.
