I cannot be around people with squeaky voices
I used to work with a woman (who has since thankfully left) who had a voice that sounded like she sucked on a helium balloon. The mere sound of her voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I would always find a reason to leave the room whenever she came in. That's how annoying her squeaky voice was. I just can't be around it. Can't do it.

Gee, I can't imagine what might have happened today to make me want to write this. ;)

3. Every woman in politics is accused of having
an annoying squeaky voice.

I don't like Palin, but her voice is perfectly normal.

9. I think it's more of the run-on sentences, and the voice

Stupidity ALWAYS makes an OK voice all the more annoying.

to a large extent voice pitch is an inherent part of a person

11. She does have one of the most grating voices in politics...
which might be more tolerable if she ever said anything. She sounds like an excited 13-year old talking on the telephone to her friend about Hannah Montana.

12. Age did that to me...
I can't stand to hear high squeaky voices on men or women, and if they talk fast on top of it, I literally want to scream.

Unfortunately, most of the personalities (newscasters, weather persons, spokesmen/women for various products) on TV seem to have that high pitched tone to their voices, and they speak very quickly.

I'm partially deaf in one ear and it makes hearing such people very difficult...and if I have to actually speak to someone on the phone who has a high squeaky voice I get so frustrated.

But then there are the extra special ones whose voices are, as you said, like fingernails on a chalkboard. Those make me run screaming from the room...

;)
