and it never, ever works, but that's no reason I shouldn't keep trying.

Sure, I've lost most of my appendages to frostbite, but I just know that the snow will start being nice to me soon.

Climate change has shifted them from the cold to the hot in recent decades, however.

It's science.

Once the climate has been properly de-changed through the methodical application of counter-science, I'm sure that commies will migrate back to the cold, and Chavez Jr., and the agents he/she will indubitably be infiltrating into the country disguised as illegals, will be properly blameable.

Don Young's constant re-election to high office would probably be a sign of the apocalypse anywhere else but here in Alaska. Here it's merely another humdrum moment. Alaskans just react differently to all manner of phenomena than do others.

This is why I am always so startled at the reaction of people back East to the idea that snow might fall on them. While I will admit that two feet over a weekend is a lot even by Alaska standards, I really don't think it is worth the hysteria it produced in everyone from Washington officials to my relatives.
