1. I guess it'll be easier just to have the corporations send their own people
outright and eliminate the "middle man" of elections.

8. I was thinking the same thing . . . easier to buy a couple of legislators
to pad the senate than to buy millions of voters.

2. They always want to make things easier of them to win
This idea is archaic. That aside, they think it would work for them, but it could backfire because a few legislatures in the South have Democratic majorities and that would possibly mean less Republicans from the region.

3. Well he could always do what repugs normally do...
Just ignore the law and start appointing new senators himself.

5. Anything anti-democratic (& I mean small "d" here), & conservatives are on it....

like flies on shit. Electoral college, filibusters, equal representation for California and Wyoming in the Senate, state legislatures electing US senators--indeed, the whole rancid states' rights (as opposed to human rights) agenda--conservatives fucking LOVE it.

11. You could remind them that without the 17th it would be 62D-38R
27 states with legislatures fully controlled by democrats
15 states with legislatures fully controlled by republicans
8 states split
