pun intended.

You telling me that you never heard someone make similar comments after an unusual heat wave (or storm etc)?

People mistake weather for climate all the time.

13. tell them that global warming means more moisture in the atmosphere...
and therefore snowier winters.
i don't even bother trying to explain that some people use the term 'global climate change' now- only that 'warming' doesn't mean 'warm' year-round, and that weather is different than climate.

24. I like to remind them, "It IS winter, ya know. It snows in the winter."
Then they can respond with cold, snow, whatever, and I can say, "but not all over." Vancouver is a good example right now. BTW, it's going to be in the low 40s in Fort Lauderdale tonight. :scared: But I'm still not a denier.

18. I think that in the rare cases when anyone says anything at all in a
checkout line, especially about the weather, it is usually along the line of:

"Ya' think it will rain"? and there is a downpour outside.

"Hot enough for ya"? in the middle of a heat wave.

"What we need is some fog." and outside you can't even see the cars in the parking lot.

They don't mean to offend. They are not looking for an argument or information. They are simply strangers stuck in a line and want to break the silence.

37. Oh..I agree with you. The problem I've seen and posted about is...
...these same people are non-supportive of Politicians who try to actually DO something about Climate Change.

Plus...The people I'm talking about (in stores) usually add the statement:
"Shows where Liberals get their facts" or "Proves that scientists don't know what they're talking about"..or some other demeaning crap.

And I know they are not kidding. :) :)

for the people who get my sarcasm and give me a little nod. It's actually QUITE fun.

I do it all the time on Facebook too and most of my friends will write in something funny but there's always some wacko uncle or somebody who will seriously write in and agree with me. Everyone else knows I'm just doing it to mock them though.

29. You know why they flap their gums about weather OR "Global Warming" at all?
Because Al Gore . . . someone who the knuckledraggers consider a liar and an enemy to their diety King George II . . . is the one who brought it to light. If it were someone they liked talking about Global Warming, such as Bernard Goldberg or Hal Lindsey for example, they'd probably either agree or be quiet about it.

Otherwise, their thumbs would be up their asses about the subject and they'd find something else to be unknowledged about and mad at "liberals" for. Oh, and also be willing to share their ignorant opinion to anyone within earshot.

Using the same logic that FOX News uses to debunk global warming by citing the noreaster, Colbert sees that it's dark outside and concludes the sun's burned out!

35. The problem is WILLFUL ignorance
The people we're writing about here are willfully ignorant. They start with their conclusions and seek supporting arguments, excluding inconvenient facts. They only read Ann Coulter and Glenn Beck, and they're idea of a climate expert is Matt Drudge, because he always calls climate change "global warming" and follows every "global warming" headline with a story about cold weather somewhere.

The Ruling Class relies on such people to stay in power. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
