http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/80703-gibbs-swipes-at-gop-for-double-standard-on-handling-terrorGOP lawmakers are holding the Obama administration to a different standard than its predecessor when it comes to handling terror trials, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs argued Thursday.
Gibbs lashed out at Republican critics, who have assailed the administration's handling of the attempted Christmas Day bombing, as having an entirely different standard for President Barack Obama than they did for President George W. Bush.
"What we have here is politicians who've decided, eight years after they agreed that everything that was done with Richard Reid somehow is now done all wrong because it's a different president," Gibbs said during an appearance on MSNBC.

"We have listened to politicians in Congress describe how they think is best to interrogate somebody how tried to blow up an airplane that landed in Detroit," Gibbs said. "I think what's better and what would make the American people feel safer is that if people who are trained to interrogate...are the ones who are doing this, not politicians in Washington."
