Jesus used to have a pretty darn good reputation and for good reason. How could this happen?

Aside from the fact the Jesus died rather than do violence for the Jews against Rome, these phony Christians completely miss the fact that there is such a thing as what Psychology calls "Self Fulfilling Prophecy" - assume someone/anyone is _____________ causes you to treat them in a manner that is consistent with ______________; they react to your behavior toward them that is consistent with how they are being treated, thus confirming your assumptions about them, which then reinforces your behavior toward them.

How? Christianity has failed. It is Big Business, social clubs, mutual admiration societies, all forms of entertainment, including vacations disguised as mission work, and show-biz wanna-bes disguised as liturgy.
