6. I wish every goddamned one of them experienced a bomb being dropped on their house
every US citizen should experience that, shells and bombs and mortars being dropped on their goddamned towns, watching their children scream in terror , having to pick up the bodies of their dead children and hold them in their arms and wonder why anyone would do this

they wont. they will just watch it like a goddamned football game. Its 'over there' , its 'dark people', its not 'white christians', its not 'americans'. so they dont care a whit.

and they dont even care about the soldiers who are there.

Its especially sickening on a day that is supposed to promote LOVE. Love, indeed. my ass.

7. and tomorrow is Feb15
Edited on Sun Feb-14-10 08:47 PM by G_j
the seventh anniversary of the world wide anti-war demonstrations.
the military madness continues.
crickets

you are right in that people are so numb that nothing short of having their own neighbor bombed, would seem to get their attention.
It's come down to the military families to deal with the suffering of their loved ones. The people don't seem to care enough about them either.
Many of those "I support Our Troops" bumperstckers are fading and peeling.

It is terribly disconcerting.
People seem so disconnected from everything around them.
I think it may be somewhat attributable to "outrage fatigue."

The rest? Apathy? Ignorance?

I don't know what to think anymore.

8. Well, I'll rec this gladly.
We are the ones who wield the sword, those others are the ones who bleed by it.

If we want to save those others, we have to somehow stop enabling the wielding of the sword.

9. It is only twelve people, who cares...

Nobody cares about the millions of orphans in Iraq, I heard this morning from our VP that it was a Mistake to invade Iraq, nothing criminal about it.

It will happen again unless we begin to tell the truth.

13. Criminally negligent involuntary manslaughter or
collateral damage? If something happens in America, it's time for a jury trial and justice. If Americans do the same thing overseas it's just "shit happens."

15. Yes, very sad that we overlook the suffering we inflict on others...
and will not hold people accountable.

Yeah, I just love how we're so glib about the fact that we run a 24/7 war machine, and yet call ourselves a "peace-loving" people. :eyes:
