McCain upset the Beck mocks his daughter...calling her a useful idiot

Sen. John McCain will be upset when he hears that Fox News whackjob Glenn Beck bad-mouthed his daughter. Of course, Glenn Beck considers himself the moral compass of the conservative movement, behind Rush Limbaugh. He claims the youth of America are being hijacked. You know, by the Maoists. His impression of Meghan McCain was offensive and I am sure he wouldn't want anyone to mock his children. Of course, his latest diatribe fingered President Barack Obama and made absolutely no sense. Seems to me that he is the "useful idiot" of Fox News.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy. The Republicans let these assholes be their mouthpieces of hate. I've never understood why. So he turned and bit back. I'd hope that maybe it would be a lesson learned, but I'm not going to hold my breath. ETA I say I've never understood why, but that's not true. I do. It's because Beck and their ilk are instrumental in their success. So McCain feigns outrage, but ultimately he'll go along with it and Beck will continue to be one of the mouthpieces of the movement. It's sick.

But he still played huggy-bear with Bush four years later.

John McCain made this odious joke about Chelsea Clinton in front of a bunch of repigs back in '98:

'Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno.'

Chelsea Clinton was 12 years old! The corporate media wouldn't even run it because it was so unabashedly hateful (although I suspect it had more to do with protecting one of their pigs in Congress than tastelessness).

Meghan has put herself "out there", and once she stepped from the shadows, into the limelight, she asked for attention to herself, her words & her deeds.

Beck is an asshole, 1st Class, but he's only doing what he's paid to do. Professional shit-stirrers should be ignored....not raised higher by having a sitting-senator going toe-to-toe with them.
