Bayh would have probably skated to re-election. The liberal vote doesn't really come into play here.

4. a lot! in a few very concentrated, but small relative to the rest of the state, areas :D
if you are in Bloomington.... there are a lot of liberals! But Bloomington does not populate the state. Heck Bloomington can't even keep Baron Hill on the left-of-center reservation.

... A few areas of Indy and Terre Haute, and a couple neighborhoods in Evansville. That's about it for Indiana's liberal population.
