Mellencamp for Senate?

In all of the posts on DU, entries on fb, or news articles that I have seen, I have seen not one word as to whether or not he would even consider it. Does anybody know what he would like?

3. Mellancamp, if he wanted to be a Senator, could have announced...

his intentions and sought to get about 4500 signatures divided between the districts in the state. He did not.

If he were going to fund his own campaign, he could probably run in November, assuming the laws aren't much different than most states.

But, to run on the Democratic ticket, he would have to be asked by the Democratic party and accept.

I haven't seen anything that says he is considering a run, though he has a fan club here at DU.
It is a pipe dream as far as I can see.
