Glenn Beck Loses 103 Sponsors as His UK Broadcast Runs 5 Days With No Ads

Today, Color of Change and StopBeck.com announced that the United Kingdom has forcefully rejected Fox News host Glenn Beck. In fact, the UK broadcast of his show “was forced to run without any advertisements” for five days in a row as of yesterday. Additionally, 103 companies have agreed to stop their ads from appearing on his program. Some of the latest defections include Allstate Insurance, Anheuser-Busch, Idaho Potato Commission, Marriott International, Volkswagen, and Western Union. Some of their comments:

– “We in no way want to promote the hateful rhetoric of Mr. Glenn Beck, and therefore take this matter very seriously,” said Dino Balzano, director of advertising at Concord Music Group, parent company of Hear Music, in an email to ColorOfChange.org.

– “We do not intend to have any additional ad placements during the program,” said Jeff Flaherty, spokesperson for Marriott International, in an email to ColorOfChange.org. “I’d like to point out that diversity and inclusion are core values at Marriott and an essential component of our success.”

3. Once he's finally kicked to the curb as a radio host, don't worry, you won't have seen the last of
the Beckster. He has a future in the Republican Party—he'll run for office, mark my words.

6. If his show is losing money for Fox
or not making the money another show could be making in the same time slot, then it's clear management personally likes his John Birch Society/WorldNetDaily/Howard Beale shtick, or is advancing some agenda, and will continue to keep him on regardless of the loss.

Which means Beck truly is the ideological face of Fox News --- the real Fox News. The more sane "real news" hosts are the act --- they are just there to buffer the intensity to keep the masses from recoiling and turning away completely, like a psychopath who wears a mask of relative normalcy so as to not alarm others to the point they flee.

7. Something Ailes didn't expect
That there are a lot of companies and people out there who DO think Beck is dispicible. They don't like the type of stuff he puts on his program. Since the brain dead zombies that gobble up the trash on Fox keep coming, Ailes thinks it is fine. It would be a hope if the whole damn network went broke, but we know it won't happen. But I really truly believe if Fox News was kicked off the airwaves people would then get to listen to reason the the real things happening in this country.

12. No, these companies have stopped paying FOX in that time slot in the US as well, afaik
Beck has lost a whole slew of advertisers here -- I just had no idea he'd gone international.

13. Murdoch's Sky satellite company just rebroadcasts the whole of Fox News
with someone inserting British-oriented ads in the breaks. So Beck is there along with everything else from that channel. Whether there is a purposeful decision to avoid Beck's show because there can be such a thing as bad publicity, or whether the viewing figures are so low that no advertiser thinks it worth spending any money on at all, I don't know.
