And so we ask yet again: why are Democrats such ninnies?

.....Stay calm. Turn off the cable nets. Things aren't that catastrophic. Quit believing that Glenn Beck speaks for America. He doesn't. And pass some damn bills.

.................

If we told you that Democrats were favored to lose about eight Senate seats (six of which are in states Obama carried in '08), lose some 30 to 40 in the House, and see their top domestic issue -- health care -- stalled in Congress, you'd guess that President Obama's approval rating was, what, 35%? Maybe 40%? But as any close follower of American politics knows, Obama's approval is at or near 50% (even at 53% in the always-volatile Gallup daily track). Yet Democrats, including what we saw and heard from Evan Bayh yesterday, are behaving like Obama is at 35%. This is particularly ironic when we're just a year-plus removed from a president whose approval was 25% to 30%. There is no doubt that this is a TOUGH political environment for Democrats, but are they making it tougher by running for the hills when things might not be as bad for them as was the GOP's situation from 2006-2008? And what does it say about the Democrats and their ability to govern when they're acting like this when their president is at 50%? Republicans rallied around their president in '04, when he was hovering around 50%.

1. You don't need the cable news to tell you Dems are ninnies...
Edited on Wed Feb-17-10 10:48 AM by polichick
You only need to watch how they "negotiate" to get things done - or not.

Doesn't mean they won't hold the Majority they're afraid - or refuse - to use.

7. They're bound...
Unleash all congresspersons from the economic shackles that bind them and they just might do the work of the people. Institute public financing of campaigns and outlaw all lobbying, eliminating the incentive to use Congress as a career stepping stone.

How many posts do I have to have prior to starting a topic? I registered here because I'm desperate to talk about my citizenship and its future....

9. Read DU and you'll find out that the Democrats are evil corporatists.
Read DU some more and you'll find out that the US is completely evil and even when it does something good, it's evil. It's never enough. The good is minimized. Mistakes are maximized.

There's absolutely nothing on DU that tells any undecided voter to vote Democratic. In fact, it tells them to run as quickly as they can to another party.

K&R for an excellent article.
