I don't know who KORNHEISER is, so if he's a wingnut, forgive me for quoting a wingnut criticizing a Hidden-wingnut (Tweety), whom I detest (only slightly) less than wingnuts.

Nice that Matthews knows so much about everything from Congress to plowing snow…trouble is, he is right 10 minutes after each event happens, never before. How is it going with that back-seat driving, Chris?

Love Tony, Hate Chris, when Tony had his ESPN radio show, his trailer was "this show stinks!"…can't say that about mathews, how many people watch him?…maybe 300,000.

Matthews is a noise maker…nobody takes him serious. How he has survived so long without being fired is a testimony to the incompetent, feckless management at NBC and their parent, GE. When Comcast wraps up the acquisition, Matthews will be teaching at some community college.

He's definitely pissed me off at times. But all in all, I think he does a good job. I look forward to his show.

Kornheiser I don't watch, because the thought of watching a show where people just gab about sports leaves me cold.

Chris Matthews makes himself unlikable when he talks out of both sides of his mouth and when he says really dumb things.

1) He shafted GORE every day during Campaign 2000, then "cried" at GORE'S concession speech with, "That's the noblest thing I ever heard."

2) He slobbered over Shrub for eight years.

3) His apologists here have said things like, "He was alway against the (Iraq Attack)" and "When he's good (on our side), there's nobody better," and "He was against the war because he has five draft age sons."

4) He did the Rethugs' errands during the Fake Impeachment.

5) He slobbered over Mc5planes endlessly.

6) He caused a gun incident on the part of Pat & Bay BUCHANAN's mentally impaired brother by naming somebody Kathleen WILLEY had leaked to him privately, and it was the WRONG name, or rather it was a LIE about that person.

Every time the Bug-man comes on his show, Chris gets wood for two or three days after.

Kathleen when she visits the show once every year or two. And that, plus, my list in the previous post *does* make him fit MY definitions of a-hole. But, ah, well...

Let's face it, we can ALL be assholes now and again. It's the chronic asshole you want to be worried about.

Tony Kornheiser (above, left) is half of the cast of that ESPN daily sports commentary show Pardon the Interruption. He shares John Madden's fear of flying and tends to resent male interviewees with full heads of hair, but those are the worst things you can say about him.

It started in 1999, and the '00 election debacle "saved" it..

I love how he's able to get such a wide variety of guests to appear on his show. And yet it seems like he gets attacked by a lot of people - must be doing something right.

His walking off the Daily Show because John Stewart employed comedy in discussing Tweety's book was archetypical Tweety.

when he "danced" with Ellen and similarly physically assaulted her.

talking over people and elevated voice tirades. Sometimes it is not fun to watch him abuse his guests, even if what he is saying is something at bottom one agrees with.

Also a little off-putting is his love for zinger 'gotcha' moments. It starts to look more like a gimmick or trick that is used as a red herring to disqualify a guest's other points that have nothing to do with the 'gotcha' moment.

Just my two cents here.

Guess what, not EVERY thread posted is worth EITHER a Rec OR an UnReKKK!1 And I myself said many times during the Great Debate on UnReKKK that I never look at the Greatest Page and regard it mostly as a tool for Visitors, like media types, who don't have the time to delve through the entrails of DU, but how I DO a lot of Rec-ing (obviously, for OTHERS), both for merit and to keep worthy topics from falling through the cracks.

He's important to those inside Washington. That's about it. Kornheiser is important if you like sports programs where personalities talk a lot about crap that doesn't matter at all. To his credit he generally doesn't pretend his jobs that critical to your life unlike... Tweety. I like both at times so I'm indifferent to the conversation.

He gets a tingle when the authoritarians utter words his way. He fawns over strict daddy Cheney. He speaks of his days on Senate staff (or House?) from time to time with a little too much twinkle in the eye.

He's like Colin Powell that way. He kisses any butt one rung up from him. But Mathews does ask a question again if it goes unanswered. So he's a top 10 percenter!
